Rounded Crown

Significantly Rounded Crown with Honeycomb Milling

The crown of the club has a significantly rounded shape in order to provide flexibility without compromising strength. Furthermore, a chemical milling process is used to give the entire crown a honeycomb pattern which minimizes its thickness but preserves its strength. The thinness ensures that the crown is flexible, while the strength ensures that it returns to its original shape. This pliable-yet-strong crown design gives an added kick to initial ball velocity.

"M" Groove on Sole for Larger COR Area

An M-shaped groove on the sole allows it to flex like the face and crown, further amplifying the 'bounce' from the head. The grooves on the toe and heel are cut deeper to help control flexure. This cuts down on head rattle during impact, thereby further expanding the high-COR area of the face.

Short, Deep, and Low Center of Gravity Allows for a Softer Swing

A 22g weight is inserted in the back of the heel section of the head to provide a shorter and deeper center of gravity. This ensures that the head returns naturally and that there is no rattle, even if you miss the sweet spot. Furthermore, a lower center of gravity allows for easier ball lift, reduced spin rate and an optimal trajectory.

Head Design Provides Confident, Secure Address

Apart from the rounded crown shape, the contours of each part of the head have been carefully crafted to reduce any sense of 'thickness' during address. The head design feels shallow in order to provide a sense of confidence and security during address. Furthermore, the motif used on the crown offers golfers support for a smooth backswing. Even the psychology of the golfer during address has been incorporated into the head design.

Special Ultra-elastic and Ultra-light STARK HI COR Driver Shaft

The S-YARD STARK HI COR Driver utilises a special shaft which was designed in conjunction with expert shaft maker Fujikura. The use of the 75t ultra-elastic carbon fibre results in an ultra-light wight shaft of 43g (SR). It minimises rattle from the top to impact which ensures all of the high-COR energy is transferred to the golf ball.
