FORGING

Forging
Forging refers to a processing technology that shape metal material by means of beating, pressing or mechanical shock. By contrast, casting refers to a processing technology that can shape by melting the metal material in high heat then pour the liquefied form into a mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify.
Forging and casting method can both be employed to manufacture precision metal parts for golf clubs, but by forging, the property of metal tissue can be changed, mechanical performance promoted and metal fatigue restrained. Thus forged clubs can bear larger load and are more durable.
Compared with casting, forging is much more advantageous. Forging increased the ductility and resilience of the metal material. High-level forged materials can also help in reducing the weight of club head so that the designer can make use of the larger resilience to increase effective space for counterweights manipulation. In this way, not only the fault tolerance is increased but also the driving distance is boosted.
Forging has absolute advantage when designing drivers, with its evenly texture, the forged metal material can be used to manufacture club head with soft sense of touch. (The hard sense of touch or the soft sense of touch is often referred to different feelings send to golfer's hand when the club head touches the ball, different club head materials send various feelings to golfers at impact.
